About
Built by people who run plants, for people who run plants.
Consystence Pty Ltd is the platform. It’s built by Deftec — a 64-person industrial automation business with 20+ years delivering control systems to Tier-1 Australian miners — on code that already runs plants, not whiteboard speculation.

The story
Production code, not whiteboard speculation
The device library didn’t start on a whiteboard. It started as Deftec’s production codebase — 112 UDTs and 57 AOIs lifted from real PLC code that already runs plants. Every faceplate, alarm, command, and simulation profile traces back to equipment a foreman would recognise: pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, MCC sections.
Deftec has spent 20+ years delivering control systems to Tier-1 Australian miners. Consystence is what we wanted on every site — one platform from the PLC to the cloud, standing on code that’s already proven in the field rather than written for a pitch.
Consystence is software. The skids, panels, and field commissioning stay withDeftecand its partners. A dam pump station was the first proving ground for the full PLC → edge → site → cloud chain.
Real plants. Real equipment. Real code.
The founder
One engineer who has stood at the MCC
Garry Thomas
Founder · software + electrical engineer
Garry holds dual engineering degrees — software and electrical — and has spent 20+ years in industrial automation, delivering control systems to Tier-1 Australian miners through Deftec.
Consystence is the platform he wanted on every site: one system from the PLC to the cloud, built on the device library Deftec already ships. He writes the C# and the IEC 61131-3 Structured Text — the platform is shaped by someone who has stood at the MCC, not just at the keyboard.
One real engineer, one real codebase — no invented team, no borrowed logos.
What we believe
Five principles, no slogans
The line on AI is non-negotiable, and the line between software and steel keeps us honest.
Precise over fluffy
Built for the floor
AI advises; the PLC controls
Australian-built, data stays here
Software, not skids
